Review Your Electricity Plan …

… you may not be on the best plan for you any more.

Hello Renewable Newstead supporters,

As you know, our project finished some time ago but we want to tell you that Flow Power, the company that built the solar farm near Newstead and which sells electricity to many of us, has three electricity plans now, not just one.

The plan closest to that which we have all been on is called Flow Home. For those without a battery or those who use a lot of electricity between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM, the new version of Flow Home is probably still the best plan for you. There have been some price increases to the Flow Home plan but this is common around August every year for almost all electricity retailers.

With these changes, it’s possible Flow Power automatically put you on a plan different to Flow Home, called either 4Free or Flow Home Happy Hour.

The 4Free plan gives you four hours of free electricity in the middle of the day however electricity prices at other times are high and the cost each day to provide electricity for your house has almost doubled. We strongly recommend you look at this plan very closely before you continue on it.

The other plan called Flow Home Happy Hour is aimed at people with batteries. If you have a battery, then look at this plan and consider using it.

If you are not sure which plan you are on, the Flow Power app on your mobile phone should tell you. The same app can be used to change plans.  If you have problems using the app, call Flow Power on their customer service number 1300 08 06 08 60806 to ask what plan you are on and is it the most suitable plan for you.

Most of us from Renewable Newstead have changed back to the Flow Home plan, having found that we’d been put on a plan unsuited to our needs.

Thanks for reading this and all the best, from the Renewable Newstead volunteers.
